Music at St. Anne's!

St. Anne’s is known for its exemplary music program and the St. Anne’s Concert Series is a big part of it, bringing to Annapolis the best musicians in the region. The church itself boasts the finest acoustics in the area as well as one of the finest pipe organs. So, if you like music – music of all kinds – join us!

Children's Choir is for children between the ages of 3 and 10. Each week, beginning at 11:00 a.m. all children of St. Anne’s may participate in the Children’s Choir. Jill Woodward and Ken Kimble lead a 15-minute session in which children learn a song and practice singing. Children sing the anthem at the 9:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist service on the fourth Sunday of each month. The Children’s Choir sings at the Christ Child Service on Christmas Eve and the Children’s Liturgy of the Light, the Saturday before Easter.

Under the direction of conductor, J. Ernest Green, our Senior Choir is composed of over 50 members. The Senior Choir provides most of the music for our 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. worship services. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Skylight Room of the Parish House.

Instrumental music for church services and other events is frequently provided by the Church Circle Consort. This group is a collection of instrumentalist, including strings, winds and percussion that range from amateur to professional and beginners to lifetime musicians. Interested participants are grouped appropriately with other instruments or arrangements are made for solo performances and accompaniment with piano. A brass choir meets regularly and a string trio meets at arranged times. Other groups are formed for specific performances and as the need arises. If you play an instrument- any instrument, let Kari Shea know.
