The music for St. Anne’s Ash Wednesday services will set a reflective and prayerful tone as we enter the season of Lent. The Choir will sing Randall Thompson’s The Paper Reeds, a work whose spare beauty and contemplative text underscore the themes of penitence and renewal that mark the day. Also featured will be Music Director J. Ernest Green’s setting of Tonus Peregrinus, which will serve as a musical thread throughout the Season of Lent, grounding the liturgy in an ancient and meditative chant tradition. Together with the Choir, soloists will help lead and enrich our worship, offering music that invites stillness, introspection, and communal prayer.
