Navigating Difficult Conversations Eastertide Forum

Photo caption:

The sandstone carved winged angel on the St. Anne's baptismal font represents the Gospel of Matthew, which the Adult Forum will explore in depth this Eastertide.

How well do you navigate difficult conversations these days? When a difference or dissent arises in conversation, do you deflect? Do you change the subject? Or are you able to hold the course? This Eastertide, four Adult Forum sessions are designed to equip us with spiritual tools to navigate difficult conversations in our Christian life. Using the Gospel of Matthew as a guide, the forums will engage in discussion around theological themes of forgiveness, judgment, money, hope, and religion

On May 3rd, five parishioners will share their experiences of judgment (Matthew 7:1-5): Pam May, Paul Sacilowski, Francis Burke, Katy Jensen, Sheeba Delaney, and Townsend McNitt. On May 10th, Father Manoj will facilitate a discussion on money (Matthew 19:16-26).  May 17th, Maria Winters, LCPC, will return to lead us in discussing hope (Matthew 2.18, 4.18-5:16).  On May 24th, leadership coach and facilitator Colleen Cruikshank will lead the final session on discussing religion and politics.

We hope you will come and bring a friend! Children are encouraged to attend Sunday School during this formation hour. The South Street parking lot adjacent to the Parish House will be open for Sunday School families and forum attendees.

The Adult Formation Committee: Katy Jensen, Allison Williams, Stan Ward, Jo Tetlow, and The Rev. Alice Grant
