Dreams of My Soul: An Annapolis 250 Presentation

‘Dreams of My Soul: An Annapolis 250 Presentation,” on Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27 at 6pm at St. John’s College, Francis Scott Key Auditorium.  The story takes place on February 1776 in the home of Charles Carroll at Duke of Gloucester Street and there are great tensions in the City of Annapolis, for everyone. The City of Annapolis is quite busy, with Maryland Legislators from all over the State and their enslaved and indentured servants.

The house is in being turned upside down at servants are packing up to return to the plantation as the British are making their way down the Bay. Mr. Carroll is out at meeting in a local tavern, and his cohorts are concerned about the colonies and the separation from the Brits. The enslaved are concerned, fearful and hopeful being enticed by Lord Dunmore. Will they continue to live a life in bondage? Is there a way to run? What will happen if Master Carroll catches us?
