Annapolis Historic Preservation Committee Approves Permits for Bollards and Fence Strengthening at July 8 Hearing

Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission approves permit for bollards and fence strengthening at July 8 Hearing

In the last two years, two vehicles have roared up Main Street and smashed through our historic fence. Fortunately, they did not impact the church apse. Undoubtably, this situation will recur. To limit the damage from future impacts, the Facilities Committee has pursued improvements to our fencing and driveways. On Tuesday, July 9, the HPC approved permits for the improvements, allowing further planning and eventual work to proceed. Bob Biddle and Bill Wilbert presented the Parish’s application at the hearing, and Fr. Manoj also spoke in support. The Facilities Committee thanks the Vestry, Executive Committee, and the Wardens for their continuing support for the security related improvements to be funded by a FEMA Grant, a grant to St. Anne’s which continues to avoid the budgetary axe.
