Clergy Epistle
Beloved in Christ,
Grace and peace to you.
In this season of ministry at St. Anne’s, we are blessed to introduce two gifted individuals whose presence among us will enrich our life together in distinct but equally important ways.
First, it is with joy and deep gratitude that we welcome Ms. Victoria (“Vicki”) Chia, who will join us for a six-month internship as part of her discernment toward ordained ministry in the sacred order of Deacons. Her internship will begin on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and conclude on Sunday, January 11, 2026. A native of Minnesota, now based in Baltimore, Vicki works in global health at Jhpiego, an international nonprofit affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. She has spent fourteen years abroad with the United Nations, the U.S. Department of State, and as a contractor for the Department of Defense. Holding master’s degrees from Harvard and Columbia and a bachelor’s from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, she is also a committed member of the Church of the Redeemer, where she serves on the vestry and as a lector and intercessor. We look forward to accompanying Vicki as she listens for the Spirit’s call and shares her gifts among us.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. David (“Dave”) Fischvogt as our Volunteer Parish Archivist and Assistant Historian, working alongside our longtime parish historian, Dr. Eric Fredland. A relatively new member of St. Anne’s, Dave brings decades of leadership in education and historical preservation. After a 30-year career as a teacher and principal, he served as Director of Education at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, where he also worked extensively in its archives following the collapse of the historic roundhouse roof, and later as Director of Education at the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards. In his role at St. Anne’s, Dave will help preserve, organize, and share the story of our parish so that future generations may know the witness of faith that has shaped us.
Though Vicki’s ministry focuses on discerning a call to serve the world and Dave’s on preserving the witness of our past, both remind us of a fundamental truth: we are called to remember and to respond—to recall the reality of our response to God’s call in history, and to respond with lives of service in the present.
Please join me in warmly welcoming both Vicki and Dave into their respective ministries.
Let us pray for them, support them, and give thanks for the gifts they bring to our common life.
Your Servant In Christ,
Manoj+
