Good Friday Stations of the Cross, Friday, April 3, at 9 a.m.

St. Anne’s will lead a Good Friday procession called the Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 3, at 9 a.m., beginning at Church Circle. The process will be a three-quarters-of-a-mile walk with 9 stops.

At each stop participants “are invited to read about the significance of each station,” as they trace the steps of when Jesus was condemned to death, took up his cross, met his “afflicted mother,” had the cross lain on Simon of Cyrene, met the women from Jerusalem, was stripped of his clothes, nailed to the cross, died on the cross, and was laid in a tomb.

The procession’s first two stops will be at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County and on the circle across from Southgate Fountain. The rest of the stops will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery, located at Northwest Street and West Washington Street, and will conclude in the Garden of Peace and Remembrance. At the conclusion of the Stations of the Cross, participants are invited to leave the garden in silence or remain to pray.
