Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network Begins Advocacy at State Legislative Session
The St Anne's MEPPN ( Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network) team is excited to begin our advocacy work for the legislative session that begins this week.
St. Anne’s parishioners can play a crucial role in bringing Christian values to the attention of Maryland Legislators as they make decisions about 2026 bills that affect housing, the environment, health, and education, especially as Marylanders struggle with the rising costs for basic needs.
We are always looking for more to join us. Keeping an eye on bills, writing testimony, or appearing for oral testimony in the area of your choice is so helpful. There will be less money distributed this year, purse strings are tight, and we need to let our legislators know what we think, either under the MEPPN umbrella or on our own.
Our MEPPN team will report nearly every week on an interest area. We meet every week by Zoom during the legislative session. Please get in touch with questions or to join in. Thank you for your interest!

Maryland General Assembly Resources
The Maryland General Assembly website has excellent tutorials, a list of bills introduced, how to track bills, and how to provide written and oral testimony. You can access video tutorials at the bottom of each page. Explore the site. There is loads of interesting information.
It’s easy to sign up for MyMGA Tracking. You can find out about the progress of bills you care about and even get email updates.
This is going to be a tough session for everyone. Money has been cut from the federal budget, and that filters down. We need to tell our elected officials how we want our money spent.
Next week, more on MEPPN.
