Meeting of the ACT Attainable Housing Team on October 23

Action date: October 23 at 7:00 p.m. on ZOOM

Event: Meeting of Anne Arundel County Connecting Together Attainable Housing Team

Many of our Anne Arundel County neighbors would jump at the chance to live in a tiny house with only 610 square feet. A small cottage of 1100 square feet would be a dream home. These are creative alternatives to conventional housing that lower-wealth county residents desperately need. The affordable housing crises in AAC continues to worsen as the median house selling price rose to $509,900 in August 2025 (gis.aacounty.org) and rent averages more than $1900 per month.

Episcopalians throughout our state and local faith organizations like Anne Arundel Connecting Together (ACT) are joining together to plan and even build affordable housing solutions that go beyond single-family homes. Churches hold the key to building alternative housing. They own land for building and the MD government revised building regulations to remove barriers to church housing construction.

Event: The Episcopal Housing Corporation (https://www.episcopalhousing.org) will speak to members of the Attainable Housing Team of Anne Arundel Connecting Together on how churches can develop building projects for affordable housing and other needed community facilities.

Date: Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Format and Time: ZOOM at 7:00 p..m.

Sponsor: Attainable Housing Team of Anne Arundel Connecting Together
