Music Notes

From June 22nd through Labor Day weekend, we will feature our Summer "Family" Choir.  Whether you're interested to sing with the choir during the year or just for a few Sundays over the summer months, we invite you to join us.  No requirements other than to come to our brief rehearsal at 9:15 AM in the choir room (just to the left of the main entrance of the church) on the Sunday you want to sing.  It's casual and fun.  No auditions (or vesting!) required.

You may notice that we change the sung "Ordinary" of the liturgy (e.g., the Gloria, Sanctus, and Fraction Anthem) with liturgical seasons.  For Eastertide, we featured a Sanctus and Agnus Dei by renowned composer Elizabeth Kimble, who grew up at St. Anne's, along with the Festival Canticle as our Song of Praise.  With the start of Pentecost, we return to the more familiar settings by William Mathias and Gerald Near. Later in the summer we'll switch to music by John Rutter and Franz Schubert.  We'll always list these selections in the bulletin and the music can be found in The Hymnal, 1982.
