Scam Alert at St. Anne’s
As we are heading into the holidays and the season of giving, the scammers are again at work targeting St. Anne’s and other Episcopal churches in our Diocese.
St. Anne’s Family, please be aware that someone is impersonating the St. Anne’s Rector and sending phony emails and texts to St. Anne’s parishioners or people connected with our parishioners. The scammers are getting more sophisticated and the fake addresses or the content in the email itself may look official. Please see an example below.

Father, as You have brought me to the Ending month of the year, go ahead of me with Your divine presence into 2026. O Lord, make the remaining days of this year full of pleasant surprises for me and my family in Jesus mighty name I pray.
Before acting on any request, check the email address. If the email is not from mzacharia@stannes-annapolis.org it did not come from the church. If the church ever asks for donations, we communicate using our St. Anne’s e-blast, the bulletin announcements, or appeals made during our services.
Please report scam texts as phishing in your messaging app and consider reporting to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Forward phishing emails to reportphishing@apwg.org (an address used by the Anti-Phishing Working Group, which includes ISPs, security vendors, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies), and consider reporting it to the FTC at FTC.gov/Complaint. If you receive an email from the clergy or staff that is not from @stannes-annapolis.org, it did not come from the church.
