Be Part of St. Anne’s Future—Complete Our Parish Survey Today

The Rev. Manoj Mathew Zacharia, Ph.D. Rector, St. Anne’s Parish, Annapolis

Beloved in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of the One who “is making all things new.”

We invite you to join the Vestry, Wardens, Clergy, and Strategic Planning Committee to fill out an important survey that will help chart St. Anne’s future.

Over the past year and a half, members of our parish family, appointed by the Vestry, have been prayerfully laboring to listen deeply about the community’s understanding of St. Anne’s—its history, its present joys and challenges, and the Spirit-filled possibilities that lie ahead. The Phase I Strategic Planning Committee has offered extraordinary service in helping us take these first steps. I give thanks to God for their careful work, their patience, and their commitment to the flourishing of our parish.

As this work moves forward, we now turn to you for your participation filling out the survey. A link to the survey is found at the end of this letter. Your responses will help us discern, together, where God is calling St. Anne’s as we look toward the year 2042, when we will joyfully celebrate our 350th anniversary. This survey is not simply an administrative tool. It is a spiritual practice—one of communal discernment. Just as our liturgy teaches us to “hear, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” the Word of God, so this process invites us to listen for the divine voice speaking through the gathered Body of Christ.

Your prayerful participation by completing the survey is essential. Whether you have worshiped at St. Anne’s for decades or have joined us recently, your perspective matters. Your hopes and holy questions matter. Your imagination for how we might “build up the Body of Christ” in this city—through worship, service, formation, hospitality, and justice—matters profoundly.

Please receive the link below as an invitation: an invitation to reflect, to dream, and to offer your wisdom for the sake of the mission entrusted to us. The more voices in the Parish that are heard, the more faithfully the Parish can discern the path that God is setting before us.

The psalmist writes, “Unless the Lord builds the house, their labor is in vain who build it.” With your help, we place this work—our planning, our hopes, our future—into God’s gracious hands, trusting that the Spirit who has guided St. Anne’s since 1692 will continue to lead us onward.
