Thank You, St. Anne's! 2,906 Pounds Donated to the Light House

Light House Food Pantry Collection Update

Thank you, everyone, for the tremendous response to our Light House pantry food collection.  Our donations helped restock the shelves after a sparse summer.  We took 101 bags from the church to the shelter, and many parishioners took their contributions directly to the shelter.  St. Anne’s was able to drop off 2,906 lbs of food for the Light House food pantry!

The impact of that generosity was deeply appreciated by the Light House staff. Gillian Heckert-Mitchell, In-Kind Donation Officer for the Light House, wrote: “we are so incredibly grateful to St. Anne's for their continued support of the pantry. We could not do the work we do without you!”

St. Anne’s will no longer be collecting bags at the church.  However, there is no deadline for the need for food.  Take your food donations to the Light House at 10 Hudson Street.  Drive through the parking lot to the back door and ring the bell.  A staff member will come get the bag, and if you have several bags, they will bring you a cart.

Thank you to those who helped with the collection. Claire Miller and Nancy Pollock printed and mailed request letters and printed the flyers and food lists. Carol Sayre and Dino Mattessich handed out bags and took bags from the church to the Light House.  A big thank you to Graul's Market for the donation of 200 grocery bags.
