Update to the Parish From the Iron Rosary Ministry

UPDATE TO THE PARISH FROM THE IRON ROSARY MINISTRY

The Iron Rosary is the collection of prayers on the fence encircling the church, welcoming all to write personal prayers which our team will laminate and hang on the fence.  Recently, there have been an overwhelming number of prayer cards placed in the basket at the back of the sanctuary and in the prayer box on the fence.  Our team takes the time to honor these heartfelt prayers, acknowledging each one and praying over them as we prepare to place them on the fence.  It gives us much joy to see many passersby pausing to contemplate the variety of prayers, biblical passages and seasonal quotes.

Here are photos of a selection of recent prayers:

Also, in the past few years, the Partners in Mission in Guatemala Team has brought prayer cards from St. Anne’s Iron Rosary Team on their annual mission trip, inviting villagers to share their prayers of hope, concern, joy and gratitude with parishioners at St. Anne’s.   This year the prayers are filled with gratitude for St. Anne’s long-term connection with them.  The handwritten cards are mostly in Spanish, but we have now translated them into English and hung them on the fence.  If you see a Spanish prayer card, turn it over to read the translation on the back.  We treasure our connection with our brothers and sisters in Guatemala and look forward to reading their prayers each year.

Here is a group photo of Father Manoj, Linda Adamson, Mary-Sophia Smith and Ariel Biddle holding up samples of the Guatemalan prayers:

We happily support other church ministries with prayer projects.  Please get in touch with a member of our team if you’d like to discuss a future idea.

Love to all of you from all of us,

The Iron Rosary Ministry, Amy, Ariel, Julie, Karen, and Mary-Sophia
