Honoring Veterans: VFW 304 Clears Gravestones at Cedar Bluff Cemetery

On Saturday, May 10, members of VFW Post 304 in Annapolis gathered for a meaningful Day of Service to clean and honor the graves of veterans laid to rest at St. Anne’s Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Led by Post Commander Kurt Suber, this effort was part of the VFW’s national #StillServing campaign, which highlights the ongoing commitment of veterans to their communities beyond their military service.

Delegate Dylan Behler, state representative from District 30A, also joined the volunteers in this impactful community project.

Volunteers spent the morning carefully clearing headstones, showing deep respect and gratitude for the service and sacrifice of those interred. Denise Robinson, founder of the Eastport-Annapolis Legacy Project, reflected, “VFW 304 was there when many of these WWII veterans were brought home from Europe and laid to rest at Cedar Bluff.”

The St. Anne’s Cemetery Committee extends heartfelt thanks to VFW 304 and all who participated in this act of service. Their dedication ensures that the memory of these veterans is honored and that their final resting places are cared for with dignity.

This Day of Service was a powerful act of remembrance.
