2025 Grantee - Adaptive Rowing Annapolis
In 2025, St. Anne's awarded grants to a number of non-profit organizations. One of the non-profits that received a grant was Adaptive Rowing Annapolis (ARA). ARA provides opportunities for its members to participate in the sport of rowing in a safe environment that is designed for their unique needs and athletic goals. Its current athlete roster is comprised of individuals with impairments that include blindness, autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and stroke, missing limbs and paraplegia. ARA partners closely with Annapolis Rowing Club (ARC), which enables ARA athletes to use the club’s facilities, rowing shells, coaching launches, and equipment and insurance required to safely row on the South River. Through rowing, the athletes develop skills, exercise, feel a sense of achievement, and enjoy being on the water with their disabled and non-disabled peers.
