All Saints Vespers and Dedication Ceremony
All Saints Vespers and Dedication Ceremony
The Truth and Reconciliation Ministry invites you to gather for an All Saints Vespers and Dedication Ceremony on November 2, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. At this beautiful service we will live into our baptismal covenant of respecting the dignity of every human being by dedicating a plaque commemorating all souls, known and unknown, who have been part of St. Anne’s long history, by acknowledging that complicated history as part of the social and economic order of Maryland once built on the cash crop of tobacco and the institution of chattel slavery, and by upholding in God’s love our longstanding relationships with St. Philip’s and St. Luke’s. We will look to the future by dedicating ourselves to seeing the face of God in each other, and all others, as partners with St. Luke’s and St. Philip’s to do God’s work as part of the Episcopal Church in the heart of Annapolis. Our guest preacher for this service will be The Rev. Randy Callender, Canon for Mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. In preparation for this service, the Truth and Reconciliation Ministry will speak at the Adult Forum in October to share historical context for the plaque and, more importantly, to discuss ways that we can continue to build relationships with our partner Episcopal parishes and with our wider Annapolis community.
