Anthem Text: The Journey Home

Many of you asked for the tex to last Sunday’s Anthem at the 10 a.m. Service. Here is a recording from Beckenhorst Press released on January 6, 2026. Produced by Dan Forrest, composed and conducted by Craig Courtney, lyrics by Pamela Stewart, and performed by the Beckenorst Choir and Orchestra.

Alleluia.

We walk by faith and not by sight, this life a winding journey home.

Although at times the path is dark, we do not travel it alone.

There is no cause for fear or dread.

The Spirit knows what lies ahead,

Remaining faithful by our side,

an everpresent help and guide.

We know in part; we dimly see as through a darkened glass,

yet we shall know as we are known, our vision clear at last.

What waits for us beyond the veil lies hidden from our sight

in mystery until the time we cross into its light.

Our journey does not go unseen by those who stand on heaven’s shore.

They do not sleep. They watch and wait, the saints who traveled here before.

Like them, we too will run the race

and mee the Savoir face to face

inside the new Jerusalem,

our homeward journey at an end.
