The Iron Rosary Fellowship Event
Summer Hospitality with the Iron Rosary
As the nation prepares for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independance, the Iron Rosary Ministry is preparing to mark the occasion by hosting fellowship in the churchyard after the morning service on June 28th. Our prayer theme for the occasion is Freedom And Prayers For Our Country with a historic twist. In addition to the usual 80+ patriotic quotations and excerpts from scripture printed on prayer cards to be hung on the fence, we will feature excerpts from the 1864 book of common prayer which will be read in the special historic service on July 4th. Everyone is invited to browse through the cards and select some to hang on the fence. We also invite you to share your favorite quotations or inspired words on this theme with any member of the team in advance so we can print and laminate them. Additionally, we will have a prayer card writing table including on-demand laminating for impromptu prayers of all types.
One or two of our team members will be spending time with children at the blue tables on the side of the church as part of The Parables and Popsicles program. We will have a special prayer card for them based on the parable "let the children come to me" (Luke 18:15-17). We hope that a couple of parents or grandparents will be on hand to help us manage craft supplies and treats with joyful enthusiasm, as we engage young and treasured members of our congregation in creative expression. We encourage parents and grandparents to help the children hang their prayer cards on the fence, secure in the knowledge that we love and value them, and that we display their creative expressions with pride.
Weather permitting, we will decorate our church yard in patriotic colors and there will be plenty of snacks and treats for adults too. If it's rainy, we will celebrate in the narthex. We hope that you will linger after church and spend some time with us and with each other in joyful, festive fellowship.
Peace and Love to each and every one of you from the Iron Rosary Ministry Team,
Amy, Ariel, Julie, Karen and Mary-Sophia
